What Atarazana Founder House is

Small, regular meetups for the people building technology in Málaga.

Málaga already has talent, companies and big events. What was missing was something closer: a meetup you come back to regularly, where little by little you start recognising faces.

Each meetup brings together around 50 people in a different place in the city. There are talks, something to eat and plenty of time to get to know each other and discuss what we are working on. Entry is free and by invitation.

Who it is for

For anyone who is building something, whatever their job title.

  • You have started or are starting a company, whether it is your first or your fifth.
  • You write the code that makes the product work: backend, frontend, infrastructure or data.
  • You do research, train models or bring AI into a real product.
  • You decide what gets built and why, and you talk to the people who use it.
  • You shape how what gets built looks and works.
  • You joined a startup early and treat its problems as your own.
  • You are still studying, but you already have your own projects up and running.

It does not matter whether you are just starting or have built several companies. The only thing we look at is what you are doing and what you can bring to the conversation.

What happens at a meetup

We get together to meet other people in Málaga’s tech community. There are talks to discover what others are working on, and time to chat, grab a bite and see what comes of it.

  1. Get to know each other

    Put faces to people working in technology in Málaga, share what you are working on and hear what others are doing. Sometimes it is simply a good conversation. Other times, it leads to a friendship, an idea or something you work on together.

  2. Talks

    People working in software, AI, deep tech and startups share what they are doing and what they have learned along the way. A chance to discover projects and ask the people behind them questions.

  3. Grab a bite and keep talking

    After the talks, there is food, drinks and time to get to know each other. Continue a conversation, approach someone who just presented or chat with the person next to you.

Places are limited. We aim for a varied room and always keep space for new people.

If you are in, you receive the invite with the date and address of the meetup.

Share what we are building

We share working products and the stories of how they got there: lessons learned, key decisions and the challenges still ahead.

Coming back matters

We prefer small, frequent meetups to one big event a year: that way you see the same people again and relationships grow.

From Málaga

You can build a world-class company without leaving. We want the people doing it to have somewhere to meet each other.

Invitation, not status

We ask for invites to look after the mix in the room, not to be exclusive. Inside, it does not matter if you are junior or a serial founder.

Who pays for it

Getting in is free. Costs are covered by partner companies.

Partners pay for the venue, food and drinks at each meetup. They do not buy demos, talks or invites: who gets in and what gets shown is decided by the community.

We are closing the partners for Session 001. If your company wants to support the Málaga tech community, we will tell you how.

How to become a partner

Frequently asked questions

Where is it?
Each meetup happens in a different place in Málaga: an office, a workshop, a terrace… The exact address comes with the invite.
When is the next one?
The first one, Session 001, will take place on 29 October. Details will be shared on Luma.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Entry is free. Costs are covered by partners.
Do I have to be a founder?
No. Founders, engineers, research, product and design people and early startup employees all come. We look at what you are building, not your job title.
Do I have to present something?
No. Most people come to listen, ask questions and talk. If you want to show something at a future meetup, write to us: it does not need to be finished.
Why do I need an invite?
Because places are few (around 50) and we want a varied room of people who are building. A link to what you do is enough.
Can I bring someone?
Invites are individual because the room is small. If you know someone who fits, they can request an invite, or write to us telling us who they are and what they are building.
What language is spoken?
Spanish and English, depending on who is taking part in the conversation.
